Serving Homeowners Throughout Florida

Your Homeowner's Advocate

About Ask A Local Contractor

Every day, homeowners make important decisions about repairs, renovations, remodeling projects, insurance claims, home purchases, and preparing their homes for the future — often with little more than a contractor’s proposal and the hope they’re making the right choice.

At Ask A Local Contractor, we believe homeowners deserve something better. We believe you deserve an experienced construction professional who works in your best interest before you commit to a project — someone who can explain the process, review estimates, answer questions, identify potential problems, and help you make informed decisions with confidence.

That is why Ask A Local Contractor was created.

Our mission is simple: to provide honest, experienced, and independent construction guidance that empowers homeowners to make smarter decisions, protect one of their largest investments — their home — and help them create homes that are safe, functional, and ready for every stage of life.

Ask A Local Contractor was founded by Allan Roe, a Florida Certified General Contractor, Florida Certified Underground Utility & Excavation Contractor, Florida Licensed Home Inspector, and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). With more than 40 years of construction and project management experience, Allan created Ask A Local Contractor to give homeowners the same level of professional guidance traditionally available only to contractors and construction professionals.

What Makes Us Different

Guidance First. Sales Pitch Never.

Unlike many companies whose primary objective is to sell construction services, Ask A Local Contractor begins by helping homeowners understand their options.

Whether you need a second opinion on a contractor’s proposal, guidance before purchasing a home, assistance evaluating an insurance repair estimate, someone to represent your interests during a construction project, or advice on making your home safer and more accessible as you age, we provide practical, unbiased guidance based on decades of real-world construction experience.

We believe informed homeowners make better decisions, avoid costly mistakes, and achieve better project outcomes.
